Cassiel exhales in a slight laugh, their mouth quirking up at the ends. "If you're looking for a show of emotion, you'll need to find one elsewhere."
It's nice, to see Gabriel so pleased. They've never been one for strong displays of emotion, affection being among them, so they simply think that it's nice - that it warms them in a way that's probably nothing to do with the intoxicating air - and their introspection stops there.
Besides, the warm fuzzy feeling is easier to think about than the last time they had seen each other.
They process the situation and lower their stance, leg sweeping out in a kick as they make a spirited attempt to knock Gabriel off-balance. It's somewhat awkward - they're used to using their bare hands for combat, not mortal play-fighting - but they're trying their best not to fall into old habits and treat this like an actual brawl.
As amusing as that would be. There's standards to maintain in front of mortals, after all; they shouldn't frighten them with their idea of a close-combat match. (Cassiel's idea of what is frightening to mortals is skewed, but they're probably not that wrong in this case.)
