Success! Gabriel is quick to hop back to his feet the very instant Cassiel is no longer atop of him. There had been some consideration that he could have done a decent amount of damage, had Cassiel not been as clever as they were. But that was the thing: they were that clever, so clearly there wasn't any threat of real injury to begin with.

The wings spread, all in shifting shades of blue and gold, the archangel positively radiant as he laughs. Hey, he thought it was a good trick, and by the sound of it so did the audience, it made for a great spectacle. Something he found was genuinely quite thrilling, there was a certain measure of joy to be had here, in this silly little no-stakes tussle, all for the sake of entertainment and nothing else.
